How to welcome new email subscribers to achieve long-term engagement

In this 75-minute webinar presented by Peggy Naumann, Tech Champion for Email Marketing, you’ll learn how to make some simple tweaks to your email marketing to foster engagement from the moment someone subscribes to your mailing list.

In this session, you will learn:

  • What good engagement looks like in email marketing
  • Why it’s so important to welcome your new subscribers
  • How to plan the content of your welcome email and sign-up confirmation page
  • Some more advanced techniques to tailor your welcome to suit different types of subscriber

During this webinar you’ll have a chance to get stuck into planning your content and share ideas with your peers in breakout rooms.

Make sure you let us know which Email Service Provider you use in your booking form so Peggy can investigate how automations work in your chosen system.

What level is it?

Beginner to Intermediate. To get the most out of this webinar, you should have a basic grasp of how to send emails from your chosen email service provider.

Knowledge of email automations and segmentation isn’t essential, but attendees with some understanding will find the advanced section of the webinar easier to understand.

To prepare for this session we recommend watching Peggy’s Getting started with email marketing webinar recording, particularly if you are earlier in your email marketing journey.

What type of webinar is it?

Instructional format with additional small group discussions. You will be able to interact verbally with your peers and the presenters during break-out sessions, and also using the chat function. This session will be hosted as a Zoom Meeting.

Can I book a place?

This webinar is presented as part of a funded programme for arts and cultural organisations. Free places are available for anyone who works with or for a publicly funded arts and cultural organisation and for those currently in receipt of or usually eligible for Arts Council funding.

Places are limited so we ask that no more than 2 people from one organisation attend.

This webinar will be live captioned. If you have any other access needs, please let us know upon booking or get in touch at digitalnetwork@artscouncil.org.uk. We ask you give a minimum of 10 days’ notice where possible.

Can I ask questions?

Yes and we actively encourage it to shape the content. You can ask in advance on Twitter using the hashtag #DigitalCultureNetwork or message @ace_dcn.

You can also ask questions on the day using the Zoom live stream chat facility.

Can I receive 1-2-1 support?

The Digital Culture Network is part of a funded programme for arts and cultural organisations. We have a team of nine Tech Champions across the country, who can provide free 1-2-1 support in a range of areas including digital strategy development, websites, social media, data analytics, digital content creation, SEO and paid marketing, CRM, box office and ticketing systems and email marketing. This support is available for those currently funded by or usually eligible for Arts Council England funding. You can indicate whether you would like to be contacted by a Tech Champion as part of the sign-up process.
