We’re excited to announce the first of the organisations and individuals who have been shortlisted for the Digital Culture Awards, brought to you by Arts Council England and the Digital Culture Network.
Today, we’re sharing the Shortlist for our first two categories – Digital Trailblazer & Emerging Digital Leader.
Digital Trailblazer Shortlist
Our Digital Trailblazer award celebrates digital adoption and transformation. The shortlisted projects showcase how each organisation has embedded digital practises into their structures to bring about measurable change and progress. It was Our brilliant Judge was Katz Kiely – CEO of Beep.
The shortlisted projects are:
- Kingston Council for the digital transformation of Kingston Libraries
- Noise Solution CIC for digital youth work, informed by Self Determination Theory
- National Student Drama Festival for welcoming in the world with NSDF online

Emerging Digital Leader Shortlist
Our Emerging Digital Leader award celebrates an inspiring individual who has been a creative and innovative force for change in their organisation. The shortlisted individuals use digital to drive improved performance and increase audience reach and engagement. Our brilliant Judge was Hilary Carty CCMI – Executive Director, Clore Leadership.
The shortlisted individuals are:
- Michael Hardy for their work as Digital Engagement Curator at Barnsley Museums
- Lucy Askew for their work as Chief Executive at Creation Theatre
- Sophie Waddy for their work as Marketing and Communications Manager at Little Angel Theatre (now at The Albany)

Get ready for the ceremony!
You can find out who has won at our virtual awards ceremony taking place on 20 January 2022.
We want the event to be a celebration of all the inspiring digital work accomplished across England in the past 2 years. Tickets will be limited and we’ll update the website soon with details about how you can attend virtually and get involved.
